How is the scope in civil engineering

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering

The bachelor's degree includes a total of 6 semesters. The first 4 semesters put a Basic phase in which the general basic knowledge of the civil engineer is conveyed. In the 5th semester there is an initial focus phase for a subject area, which ends in the 6th semester in the specialization phase. The general curriculum is shown in the figure. 180 credits must be earned over the entire course of studies, of which the compulsory and elective modules as well as the bachelor thesis are structured as follows:

  • Compulsory modules: 120 credits
  • Elective modules: 45 credits
  • Bachelor thesis: 10 credits
  • General education subjects: 5 credits

The focus of the course results from the selected main profile in the 5th semester. There are 3 profiles to choose from, 1. Constructive (building), 2. Water (environment)3. Transport (infrastructure), from which a preferred main profile (field of study) is selected. The remaining profiles form the secondary profiles. 10 credits must be selected from the main profile and at least 5 credits from each secondary profile. The remaining 10 credits of the5th semester can be used by students in the form ofElective modules can be freely used to further deepen your further interests or one of the selected secondary profiles. The6th semester is used to make thebachelor thesis intended. This has a scope of 10 credits and represents a first specialization in a subject area. In addition to the bachelor thesis, general education subjects can be attended to the extent of 5 ECTS. The general education subjects give students the opportunity to acquire skills outside of the subject areas of engineering.
