From avocado to egg, egg, egg ...

The story of the yellow classic

The indigenous people of the Amazon region in the Portuguese colony of Brazil, the Tupo Guarani Indians, once mixed an alcoholic drink based on the avocado fruit. The colonial drivers imported the avocado tree and the recipe to Europe in the 17th century, but the trees did not want to thrive here. But how could the avocado to be replaced?

The solution was, in the truest sense of the word, the “yellow from the egg”, which was similar in taste and appearance. So Eugen Verpoorten finally developed his special recipe in 1876, according to which the delicious VERPOORTEN ORIGINAL egg liqueur is still made today.
